Hello everyone,

The beaches of all the Disney resorts remain closed today. Signs have been put in place warning of alligators and snakes. They have installed fences at Disney’s Grand Floridian resort to keep guest out of the water and separated from potentially dangerous wildlife.  It is believed that the same fencing will be added to all Disney beach resorts. The Grave’s family church, St. Patrick’s Parish, has stepped up and asked that all sympathy cards and donations be sent to the church address for the family. Click for address if inclined.

In the wake of the tragic shooting that took place at Pulse nightclub last week, it was discovered that the gunman had also scouted Disney Springs as a possible target. Security has been heightened at all the theme parks including Disney Springs.  The new shopping and dining center is the only attraction destination on property that doesn’t have a bag check or metal detector, but that does not mean safety is an issue.  Disney added additional security cameras in Disney Springs last week that were scheduled to be installed prior to any attacks. The company has a significant presence of undercover and uniformed police at all their destinations, including Disney Springs, which also has sheriff mounted horse patrol. It is rumored and assumed that they have added more security officers since the shooting. Disney also added metal detectors back in December after a Miami lawyer tried to enter the Magic Kingdom with a loaded gun.

Disney donated $1 Million dollars to the OneOrlando Fund last week. Here are all the different charities set up with links for you to donate to help raise money for the victims and their families. Combining all the leading charities over $14 million dollars has been raised thus far. The local sports teams throughout Orlando are also joining forces and have designed #OrlandoUnited T-shirts in support of last week’s tragedy. All the net proceeds will go to the OneOrlando Fund to raise money for this hurting community.

In light of these horrific tragedies directly affecting the Orlando area, Disney is doing all in their power to keep a safe and family friendly environment at all of their resorts and theme parks.  It seems to me you cannot be too careful these days, but I assure you Disney will take every measure to protect their guests.

Thank you for reading my posts, I know this isn’t a typical one, but I believe it is worth updating everyone. As Disney releases more information regarding safety measures I will keep you all in the loop.

Sincerely,
Samantha
