The Disney Wonder will be dry docked this fall and will make its debut with all the new enhancements on November 10, with sailings out of Galveston.

The ship will be updated from stem to stern and will feature new themed restaurants such as Tiana’s Place based on the Disney Animated film “The Princess and the Frog. {I have been anxiously awaiting for this restaurant to open anywhere on Disney property.} The venue will have a French Quarter supper club atmosphere complete with live bands playing a variety of jazz, swing and blues. The menu is of course inspired by the Louisiana bayou and will feature Princess Tiana’s recipes. There will be a few other restaurants, lounges, and nightclubs added to the ship as well.

Marvel Super Hero Academy will be added to the Disney’s Oceaneer Club, the engaging and interactive space just for children ages 3-12. Here children will have the opportunity to work with Spider-Man in person while he helps them perfect their web-slinging.

Frozen Adventures will be added to the club and children will have a moment to prepare for the coronation and receive a visit from Anna and Elsa.

Club Disney Junior features favorite Disney Junior characters like Sofia the First and Doc Mcstuffins. There will also be storytelling and games.

Andy’s Room is where kids feel toy-sized in the multi-level play space-themed to the Disney Pixar “Toy Story” trilogy. Children will get to experience a hoedown with Woody, and participate in a scavenger hunt with Jesse.

The pool deck will also be completely reimagined and will be adding a Twist “n” Spout water slide, Dory’s Reef – a splash pad for toddlers and Aqua Lab – an interactive waterscape for kids.

“Frozen – Live at the Hyperion” is a new musical stage show at Disney California Adventure Park. This theatrical rendition of “Frozen” includes chart-topping musical performances, elaborate costumes, and extensive special effects. The show plays daily at the dazzling Hyperion Theater.

Hollywood Studios

In an effort to reduce long lines for Toy Story Mania an additional track has been added and is now in operation.

While Hollywood Studios is undergoing its massive expansion to build Toy Story and Star Wars lands, the park has lost a number of quick-service dining options due to construction. As a temporary fix, the Echo Park area has added three new kiosks where guests can grab light meals. The new Bocados del Lago Nachos y Empanadas, Sliders to the Stars and Hollywood Waffles of Fame are open through late summer.

Disney Springs

STK Orlando is now open and accepting reservations for lunch and dinner. This restaurant has a modern stylish atmosphere and is perfect for a date or a night out with friends.

The newest neighborhood in Disney Springs—Town Center—opened several weeks ago. This is a lovely upscale shopping and dining area where you can find treasures from 35 new shops that recently opened including two of my personal favorites, Anthropologie and Free People. This week, Disney motor coaches received its own dedicated bus lanes, allowing more efficient access to the property. Guests are now dropped off at the stunning Gateway near Sundries where they can easily rent strollers and wheelchairs.

Animal Kingdom

The Animal Kingdom received its first signature dining restaurant: Tiffins. This beautiful space was designed to celebrate world travel. The details added throughout the restaurant are influenced by the sketches and journals of the theme parks creators. The menu celebrates the locations that inspired the park. You will find adventurous foods from Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. Reservations are highly recommended.

The adjacent Nomad Lounge has the same elegant feel as Tiffins, yet does not require reservations. It features small bites, specialty cocktails and wines from faraway lands such as Africa and Asia.

Disney Extras

Alex and Ani will be releasing a new “Words are Powerful” collection on June 13, featuring inspiring phrases from Ariel, Belle, Cinderella and Aurora. Is it a coincidence that the four princesses chosen are the ones whose films are being or have already been transformed into live action films? I think not. They are available in both shiny gold and silver finishes for $44.95, plus tax.

Lastly, I leave you with this incredibly contagious laugh. I love this lady! Enjoy your weekend!

“See ya real soon!”
